May peace be yours through this Easter holiday.

These are new times for everybody. Everyone taking a step back to stay safe in their homes with their families, and some are going it all alone.

Take the time to make a phone call to check in on somebody, a friend, a neighbor, a senior in need! Many are realizing the companionship and devotion of our beloved animals. The shelters have seen a spike in adoptions, but many shelters have stopped taking in owner surrenders. Some that have sadly lost their battle to the coronavirus, have left some beloved pets behind.

We’ve been rescuing for the last four weeks with a count of 42 dogs and two cats. We have met many people through adoptions and placed loving companions with their families who are taking the time to get to know their new family members. Please help us continue this important work by clicking below!Screen Shot 2020-04-13 at 5.58.04 PM

In California, they are showing the animal shelters as being empty, but the fact is they are not taking in any owner surrenders and rarely collecting animals that have been abandon to the streets. They are begging people to just keep the animals and foster them themselves, when they may not have the food or access to medical care. This must be addressed.

I have been begging for years, for folks to make sure their local food pantries are supplying pet food as well. Please reach out and help if you are able! Sometimes, their pets are all the seniors have in terms of companionship.

Animals bring us love, compassion, joy and are there for us through thick and thin. Their devotion and commitment is a true testament to the needs of humans in this unsettling time.

This year the holiday will be different for most.

Take the time to find peace, calm and quiet to reflect on kindness and love those around you. That is what Easter is truly about.

On our website you can see the continuous flow of rescue pets that are up for adoption. Let us find the light and goodness in the gift that has been given us, life itself and be kind to humans and animals alike!

Wishing you a kind Easter Holiday,

 Linda Blair
