Sending peace and love to all.
Dear Friends,
While we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, there is an emergency crisis happening across our country for our animals.
It is an emergency for both people and animals. With this horrible heat wave and the ongoing pet overpopulation crisis, shelters are beyond full capacity, and so are the rescue organizations. Sadly, many animals are losing their lives right now—animals who once knew a loving home—and we are deeply saddened and heartbroken.
Why should they lose their lives while we celebrate our beautiful country simply because shelters are over capacity?
At the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, we have rescued so many dogs, mothers with puppies, and countless animals now in our care. We work long hours every day, and we urgently need adopters, fosters, and volunteers to help with daily care and to give these dogs the love they all deserve.
Large organizations continue sending emails, letters, and text messages asking for support and monthly donations, and those donations certainly make a difference. But they are not the boots on the ground. They are not the rescues that are filled beyond capacity while trying to save these innocent lives from overcrowded shelters.
We receive no government funding. We rely solely on the generosity of our supporters. We are left with food costs, medical bills, and broken hearts as we wait for these sweet angels to find their forever, loving homes.
Donations need to go directly to the rescue groups working in your own communities, where they can make an immediate difference.
I am asking, on behalf of my beloved charity and rescue, if you would please consider supporting the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation during this urgent crisis. Your holiday donation is desperately needed as we continue through the challenging summer months.
Keeping Your Pets Safe This Fourth of July
Fireworks can be frightening and dangerous for our beloved pets. Please help keep them safe this holiday.
Keep your dogs safely indoors during the fireworks. Play calming music or leave the television on to help reduce their anxiety. If you can stay home with them, it’s one of the best gifts you can give your beloved companion. Watch the fireworks on television instead and spend the evening together in the safety of your home.
Please make sure your pet’s microchip information is current and up to date.
Fireworks are frightening for many animals. There are also natural and herbal remedies that may help keep them calm during this stressful time.
Make sure your gates are securely closed. Never leave your dogs outside during fireworks. Fear can cause even the calmest dog to jump fences or escape, putting them at risk of being hit by a car or becoming lost, sometimes never finding their way home again.
If you live in a fire-prone area, remember that fireworks can quickly spark wildfires. Be prepared in case you need to evacuate. Keep everything you’ll need for both your family and your pets packed and ready to go.
If you see a dog or any animal in need or distress, please show compassion and do what you can to help.
With the extreme temperatures across the country, carry extra water, food, and a spare leash whenever possible. Check on your neighbors’ animals as well. Water has become a precious commodity.
Wishing you all a peaceful and safe Fourth of July as we celebrate the amazing 250th anniversary of our great nation.
We must do more—and do better—for our animals. We need your help. Any donation, whether small or large, to the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation would truly mean the world to us and the animals we serve.
